Wow...what an adventure we had today! Wake up call at 6:15am and out the door by 7:00 am to start our drive south to Soufriere.
Pitons:
It took an hour and a half to get there as the roads were full of hairpin bends, twists and turns like we've never seen. We got a little turned around at one point and a local (Dennis) offered to show us the way...so he hopped in the back of our car (little scary) and he led us to the base of the Piton Mountains.

Gros Piton (2,619 ft.) and Petit Piton (2,461 ft.) |
We met our guide Jason and we were off to start a 2+ hour uphill journey through the mountains ...but about 5 minutes into our climb it started pouring down rain...we decided to keep going even though the rocks we were climbing were slippery and we were soaked...but once we got to about the halfway point where there was a lookout point we realized that we wouldn't be able to see anything even if we kept climbing to the top because of all the rain and fog. Sooooo...we decided to head back down the mountain without reaching the top :/

Our guide Jason - he was 21 years old and hiked in flip flops - crazy! |
 |
First check point and things are going well |
 |
This was considered the "easy portion" of the hike - really it was HELL
After the rain and back down - we told the Piton to eat shit
|
Volcano, Sulphur Springs Mud Bath:
We then headed to the drive-in volcano, took a dip in the hot springs and then soaked in the sulphur springs for a mud bath.
 |
Volcano that has been active since 2000 BC |
 |
Lovin it |
 |
Beast |
WindJammer Landing Beach:
After the hour and a half drive back to our hotel we had a nice late lunch on the water and relaxed in the lounge chairs.
 |
Finally back to the beach to relax
Dinner Date at Papa Don's
Night cap of pizza and Pitons.
Papa Don's at WindJammer Landing
Tomorrow we are headed to check-in at our next resort - Sandals La Toc!
